Big Boys Don't Cry......

I guess my baby can't be that big yet. Today was an exciting day, Aidan was getting a new carseat. We were at Target to buy him a big boy carseat, I even found one with planes and army stars and cup holders, all that a boy could need....or so I thought. As soon as I took it out of the box the tears flowed down his face and the screaming started, and this went on and on for about 20min. I bribed him with toys, candy, and all the things a good mother would bribe her child with, and nothing worked. I tried threats, no candy, no toys, no boots (that one I feel bad about). I tried singing to him and talking it up to him, pointing out all the coolness that his possesed and Zeke's did not. Nothing was working. Finally I put his butt down and found a position that I could hold him down and pull the seatbelt down to buckle. Thankfully, it worked. I only got about 20 dirty looks through the whole ordeal but at least none of them called the cops on me. Finally one lady came over to make sure I didn't need help with my obviously distraught child, and I was giving up hope on people still posessing compassion. After a trip to Trader Joes which resulted in the promised ginger cookies and corn puffs, he loves his big boy carseat. As for Zeke, he got cookies so he could care less. Or the joys of being 3.

I'm Baaaaccckkkk

Ok so I am sooo not good at doing this everyday, every week, or even every month. So here is a quick rundown of our lives.
Russell and I did our first tri-athalon in May! We did the mountain bike course at Wildflower, it was a blast, we both did great and made some great new friends and enjoyed time with Nick and Anna Brannen. We are also finally starting to put in a deck in our yard so we don't live in a dustbowl. We are being eco-friendly and making it out of old pallets, wish us luck!

Aidan had to say bye to his trampoline but his nice daddy built him a fort. Hooray for daddy! Aidan's new sayings are as follows: "Whats going on here guys?!" "I want your back"(he likes to drive cars on Russ' back) "I don't like your haircut mommy, you need to fix it"(At least I like my bangs) there are many more and if I start doing this more maybe I can remember them all.

Zeke is growing out of baby phase and entering the toddler years. He loves being on the fort with the big boys, mostly he runs around and roars at me down below, I love it. He still beeps, coos, and blows rasberries as his form of communication. He does say Grandpa, Dadda, Momma, and something that sounds like puppy. All in all he is still super cute.

We got to take the boys to monster trucks again in Chico, Zeke stayed behind but Aidan had lots of fun with grandpa. Russ and I rode in the back of one, it was pretty awesome! We got to see Roman there too and Aidan's face just lit up to see his big cousin. We took them to Gizdich Ranch in Watsonville and they played on the tractor forever then moved to the hay tunnel and played some more, then we went home and enjoyed the pie.The boys are so amazing to me everyday. They are so sweet with eachother and I know they are starting to be friends. Beach trips are approaching and I can't wait to enjoy the coast.
